StarCent AI Technologies Private Limited ("StarCent", "we", "us", or "our") operates the platform available at starcent.ai and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our Platform, whether as a talent, their representative, or a brand partner.

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Data We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Name, email address, phone number, and contact details when you sign up or submit an enquiry
• Professional details such as role, company name, and industry category
• Social media handles and publicly-associated profile information
• Campaign briefs, budget parameters, and content preferences submitted by brand partners
• Documents and agreements related to talent representation or licensing

Information we collect automatically

• Log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps
• Device identifiers and operating system information
• Usage patterns and interactions with the Platform (clicks, search queries, session duration)
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Cookies section)

Information from third parties

• Publicly available data from social media platforms for identity verification and scan purposes
• Data from brand partners regarding campaign performance and usage
• Background information from publicly available sources to verify talent identity

How We Use It

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform
• Verify identity and authenticate accounts
• Match brand partners with appropriate talent
• Facilitate licensing agreements and manage campaign execution
• Scan for and detect unauthorised use of celebrity likeness across the web
• Send transactional communications (account updates, campaign status, legal notices)
• Send marketing communications where you have opted in
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
• Investigate fraud, misuse, or security incidents

We do not use your data to train third-party AI models. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Likeness & Biometric Data

Consent is the foundation

We never process, replicate, or license a celebrity's likeness without their explicit, documented, prior consent. Every talent onboarded to the Platform signs a bespoke Likeness & Rights Agreement that specifies exactly what can and cannot be done with their digital identity.

What we process

• Reference imagery and video footage provided or approved by the talent or their authorised representative
• Publicly available images used solely for the purpose of detecting unauthorised use and takedown enforcement
• AI-generated synthetic outputs created strictly within the scope of an agreed brand campaign licence

Strict use limits

• Likeness data is used only for the specific, consent-covered purposes outlined in each talent's agreement
• Brand-generated content using a celebrity's verified avatar is restricted to agreed campaign dates, channels, and geographies
• No likeness data is used to generate content that was not explicitly approved by the talent
• Synthetic outputs are watermarked and tracked; unauthorised redistribution is actively monitored

Retention of likeness data

Likeness data is retained for the duration of the talent's active agreement with StarCent. Upon termination of the agreement, all synthetic models and reference data are deleted within 30 days, unless retention is required for active legal proceedings or regulatory compliance.

Sharing & Disclosure

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

With brand partners

We share talent profile information (name, category, general reach metrics) with brand partners for the purpose of facilitating licensing proposals. Full contact details and personal information are not shared without the talent's explicit consent.

With service providers

We use trusted third-party service providers for cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and analytics. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and may not use it for any purpose beyond providing services to us.

For legal compliance

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of StarCent, our users, or the public.

In a business transfer

If StarCent is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes.

Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods:

• Account data — retained for the lifetime of your active account, plus 2 years after account closure
• Campaign records and licensing agreements — retained for 7 years for legal and financial compliance
• Likeness data — retained only for the duration of the active talent agreement, deleted within 30 days of termination
• Web scan logs — retained for 12 months then anonymised
• Marketing preferences — retained until you withdraw consent

Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:

• End-to-end encryption for data in transit (TLS 1.2+)
• Encryption at rest for all stored personal data
• Access controls and role-based permissions restricting data access to authorised personnel only
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Incident response procedures and breach notification protocols

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations)
• Portability — request a structured, machine-readable copy of your data
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
• Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

For talent, the right to withdraw consent from likeness processing is absolute. Upon withdrawal, StarCent will immediately suspend all active campaigns using your likeness and initiate the deletion process described in the Likeness Data section above.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. The categories of cookies we use:

• Essential cookies — necessary for the Platform to function (authentication, session management). Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies — help us understand usage patterns and improve the Platform. You can opt out via your browser settings.
• Preference cookies — remember your settings and personalisation choices.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect Platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Children

The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately at hello@starcent.ai and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
